Uganda Cup Quarterfinal: Express faces Kitara on Easter Sunday

The quarterfinal draw for the 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup was conducted on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Plascon Head Offices. The event was officiated by Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte, FUFA Competitions Director Hajjat Aisha Nalule, and USPA President Moses Aslayeed Lubega.

Among the exciting fixtures, Express FC was drawn against Hoima-based Kitara FC. The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled for Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Royal Park Stadium, Butema with kickoff set for 3:00 PM.

The Red Eagles secured their place in the last eight with an emphatic 4–0 victory over Red Devo FC under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium. Goals from Henry Wamala and Asiimwe Habert, alongside a brace from striker Kimera Kenneth, sealed a dominant performance for the home side.

Kitara FC, on the other hand, edged past Bunyaruguru FC in a 6–0 win to book their quarterfinal spot.

This will mark the first meeting between Express FC and Kitara FC in the Uganda Cup. However, the two sides have previously faced off in the Startimes Uganda Premier League, where Kitara edged Express with a narrow 1–0 win.

In the event of a draw after regulation time, the match will proceed to extra time, and in case of the same result, spot kicks shall be applied to determine the winner.

Express FC enters the contest as the competition’s most successful club, having lifted the Uganda Cup 10 times. The Red Eagles will be looking for nothing but to extend their legacy by adding another triumph on the name.
